About Me
Jade Burns PhD, RN, CPNP-PC

I am a Ph.D. prepared nurse researcher who focuses on using community-based participatory research and technology (e.g., social media, mobile apps) to improve sexual health services for adolescents and young adults.
In addition to my research, I am a pediatric nurse practitioner who has practiced for over 15 years in urban settings. My area of clinical expertise is adolescent health care, family planning, health promotion, and HIV/STI prevention. My secondary area of interest is improving nursing practice and training programs in underserved areas. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing.

Overall, adolescents and young adults give me life! It is my passion to make sure that their voice is heard. The team and I are excited to create cutting-edge research that will facilitate healthy lifestyle changes and improve health disparities among this population.
